Challenge incorporates the best of Durbanville’s MTB Trails
Durbanville,
Western Cape - Mountain bike (MTB)
enthusiasts are in for a treat at the second annual Fedhealth MTB Challenge that
will take place this coming weekend at the picturesque Meerendal Wine Estate.
“Mountain bike
enthusiasts, families and friends can look forward to an action-packed weekend,”
says Michael Meyer, Managing Director of Stillwater Sports. “Our MTB festivities will kick off on
Saturday, 03 September
2016 with the Fedhealth Kids MTB Events.
Junior MTB enthusiasts can choose between a 500m, 1.5km and 5km Fun
Ride. On Sunday, 04 September 2016 the
more serious mountain bikers will get to enjoy the magnificent trails on offer
in the Durbanville Winelands.”
“Durbanville is the centre of the Northern
Suburbs MTB hub,” continues Meyer. “The 2016
Fedhealth MTB Challenge route incorporates the best of the famous Tygerberg MTB
trails, including routes that are normally closed to the general public. Entrants can look forward to a special MTB
experience that includes magnificent views of the ocean, Robben Island and
Table Mountain. The changing of the
seasons will also add to the ambiance with the route currently boasting with
various shades of yellow and green.”

in the area including Hoogekraal as well as brand new trails on Welvergenoegd
and Meerendal.

This is a challenging ride for the more
experienced moutain biker. Leave something
in the tank for the infamous quarry climb before the end.

event, riders still need a bit of fitness in the legs.
