WHERE TO EAT AND MAKE MERRY: RESTAURANTS AND BARS

BELUGA
For great sushi and an extensive wine list, head to Beluga in the Foundry. Try the sushi platters to share and one of the delicious cocktails. The setting is upmarket and classy so it’s perfect for a great night out.

HUDSONS
If you’re more of a burger and chips type of person, then head to Hudsons. You can choose from 180g patty and the more intimidating 250g option. The menu has something for everyone from the Original Royale with a beef patty, bacon, cheddar, chilli and onion rings to the Badass with two beef patties stuffed with Habanero chilli, topped with Jalapeno jam, white onion and cheddar.

GOLD
At Gold, you kick off the night with an interactive Djembe drumming session which will get you in tune with our African rhythms and songs for the rest of the evening. The African-inspired theme carries through to both the décor and the delicious food on offer. If you’re looking for some authentic local food, this is the place.

PIGALLES
An upmarket jazz evening is what you get when you visit Pigalles. The live music acts will keep you entertained while you dine on something tasty and it will get your feet moving to the dance floor when the mood takes.

EXTRABLATT
With great cocktail specials and beer on tap, Café Extrablatt is a good spot to unwind. They also do a fantastic Sunday brunch buffet where you can fill up your hungry tummy at a reasonable price.

NU HEALTH FOOD CAFÉ
The perfect spot if you’re in the mood for something healthy and refreshing. The menu is filled with local produce that is free of additives, GMOs and MSG. They serve up breakfasts, salads, wraps, 100% juice, green blends and so much more!

GIOVANNI’S
Known for amazing coffee and Italian flair, Giovanni’s is definitely a local favourite. The food is tasty and the ambience is vibrant and friendly.

BEEFCAKES
Sitting on Cape Town’s ‘Pink Strip’, Beefcakes is the perfect place for a girls’ or guys’ night out. There are many reasons for this. One being the fact that the burgers are delicious. Two, and more importantly, the entertainment is always on the go. The friendly waiters entertain all night and there is always a drag queen show on the go.

CUBANA
Cubana Latino Café is essentially a restaurant-come-bar, but it turns into a pumping nightclub over weekends as the night goes on. The Greenpoint branch is a favourite with out-of-towners while the other branches around Cape Town are popular with the locals. They have a great cocktail menu with delicious food also available. DJs hit the decks later in the night to keep the crowd dancing.

EL BURRO
El Burro is considered one of the best Mexican restaurants in Cape Town. The authentic Mexican menu, distinctly fresh ingredients, hip atmosphere and friendly staff keep patrons coming back for more.
