South Africa’s official entry to the 2017 Academy Awards is NOEM MY SKOLLIE! The special jury convened by the National Film and Video Foundation (NFVF)  announced on Tuesday, 27 September 2016 that the feature film, Noem My Skollie, currently on circuit in South African cinemas has been nominated as South Africa's official selection to the 89 th Annual Academy Awards (Oscars) in the category for Best Foreign Language Film Award. The NFVF CEO Zama Mkosi said: "We are proud that after a rigorous judging process, Noem My Skollie, is nominated as the official selection for the 89 th Annual Academy Awards. This is indicative of the role that the National Film and Video Foundation (NFVF) plays in empowering, and transforming the film industry by taking South African stories from our streets to the world." Strawberry Cookie Scoop My SPAR Prep Time:10 minutes A delicious creamy,crunchy frozen dessert made with yoghurt, condensed milk and strawberry biscuits. Ingredients(Yield: 1,5 litres) 250 ml SPAR long-life cream, well chilled 2 x 250 ml SPAR Pouring Yoghurt - strawberry flavour 1 can SPAR condensed milk 1 packet SPAR strawberry cream biscuits, roughly broken Strawberry syrup for decoration (optional) Method Using an electric mixer, beat the yoghurt and condensed milk together. In a separate bowl whisk the cream until thick. Fold into the yoghurt mixture until an even colour. Freeze for 3 hours until some thickening has occurred. Lightly stir in the biscuits and re-freeze overnight. Scoop portions, and drizzle with strawberry-flavoured syrup. Pan-fried halloumi with caper and lemon dressing with Peppadew® Mild Whole Sweet Piquanté Peppers 400g Peppadew South Africa Ingredients 1 200g block halloumi 3 tbsp extra virgin olive oil 8 Peppadew® Mild Whole Sweet Piquanté Peppers quartered 1 lemon zested and juiced 1 tbsp honey 1 tbsp small capers 15g flat leaf parsley finely chopped 100g wild rocket 1 lemon for quartering Method Drain the halloumi and then slice in half the long way. Slice each piece in half and then halved again until you have 8 slices. Heat a frying pan with the 1 tbsp of the oil. Brown the halloumi on both sides, about 1 minute each. Remove from the pan and drain on paper toweling. Add the remaining oil to the frying pan and add the capers, honey, lemon juice and zest and the Peppadew® Mild Whole Sweet Piquanté Peppers. Botriver Education Foundation success stories continue to grow The Botriver Education Foundation (BEF) together with the FNB Wines2Whales (W2W) Mountain Bike (MTB) Events is excited to continue growing the success stories in the Botriver Community. Established in 2005, the BEF is a voluntary association that aims to motivate and encourage students in the Botriver community to study in the fields of engineering, accounting and medicine. “Our mission is to develop a community to one day see at least one graduate in each household in Botriver,” says Anthony Hess, BEF Coordinator.   “ We nurture students, from as early as Grade 8, through their schooling career and hopefully into an institution of higher learning.     Currently we have seventy learners of which fifty-eight are at tertiary institutions and twelve are at high school.   In July this year we started mathematical conceptualization which is a new academic initiative for grade 4-7 f...
